The judging criteria explored how the teachers had significantly made an impact in their classrooms and on the learning outcomes of students, what differentiates them from their peers, and how they have made an organisational difference. Each year three exceptional teachers are selected for their dedication and contribution to the profession.
In 2021, I was honoured to receive the Exceptional Teacher of the Year Award from the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) — a recognition of the impact made in the classroom and on student learning outcomes. This moment meant a great deal not just to me, but to the families and children whose journeys inspired every part of it.
